TIME WARNER CABLE INTRODUCES EL PASO TO FASTER INTERNET SPEEDS WITH “ULTIMATE INTERNET”

DOCSIS 3.0 technology gives customers up to 50 Mbps download speeds in largest rollout across El Paso of new High Speed Data to data

El Paso, Texas – Time Warner Cable announced today the largest rollout of upgrades to high speed data in the area and is now offering El Paso residents Internet speeds of up to 50 Mbps with the launch of Time Warner Cable “Ultimate Internet.”  Time Warner Cable’s “Ultimate Internet” features speeds of up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and 5 Mbps upstream.  In addition to launching “Ultimate Internet,” Time Warner Cable will also increase the speeds for Extreme Internet customers in El Paso, taking them to 30 Mbps x 5 Mbps from the current speed of 20 Mbps x 2 Mbps.

By the end of April 2012 all El Pasoans will have the opportunity to experience “Ultimate Internet” and the new Extreme Internet speed.  The rolling launch in these markets ensures guaranteed functionality and a commitment from Time Warner Cable to provide all new products and services to every part of the markets they serve in Texas.

Utilizing cutting-edge, broadband technology, Time Warner Cable “Ultimate Internet” provides online performance almost inconceivable just a few years ago.  Combining the company’s robust fiber-optic network with DOCSIS 3.0 technology, Time Warner Cable Ultimate Internet provides download speeds five times faster than the company’s most popular Standard Internet offering.

This new service is ideal for gamers, customers who regularly download music or movies, employees who work from home and those with multiple computers and networked devices.  Time Warner Cable residential customers can now propel themselves into the next generation of the Internet with “Ultimate Internet.”  Wireless Home Networking is also included for “Ultimate Internet” customers using the newest wireless router technology, Wireless N Router (802.11), integrated into the modem.  It is the easiest way to connect multiple devices to the Internet and there is no additional cost for this modem.  These new Internet speed offerings give customers more flexibility in designing an Internet package to fit their needs.

“Time Warner Cable continues to lead the way as the most popular broadband provider in El Paso by bringing our customers an increase in speeds they’ve asked for,” said Gordon Harp, regional vice president of operations for Time Warner Cable in Texas.  “Through our advanced fiber-optic network, we deliver innovative, cutting-edge products that speak to the growing needs of both the tech-savvy user and multi-media families who want the optimum speeds.”

Time Warner Cable “Ultimate Internet” gives a boost to all home network devices – desktops, laptops, gaming consoles, iPads – to run optimally with these new speeds.   For customers who have multiple devices accessing the internet, it provides flexibility and performance so everyone can be online simultaneously and still get the speeds they want.   Included with Time Warner Cable “Ultimate Internet” is wireless networking capability, which provides the convenience of mobility within the home.  This increase in speed will also allow for seamless viewing of programming through the Apps such as the TWC TV and the recently added HBO GO and MAX GO.
