The Greater Texas Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) recently recognized cable industry leaders at the 2011 WICT Lone Star Awards dinner at the Westin Stonebriar in Frisco. “Our fourth annual Lone Star Awards once again highlighted that tremendously talented women and supportive industry partners and organizations are guiding Texas’ cable industry and moving it forward,” said WICT Greater Texas President Aimee Doane, vice president, operations, for Suddenlink West Region.

TCA STATEMENT ON SIGNING INTO LAW OF VIDEO FRANCHISE LEGISLATION

The Texas Cable Association (TCA) issued the following statement in connection with the signing into law by Gov. Rick Perry of Senate Bill 1087, which provides a more level playing field for video service providers by erasing some competitive advantages provided by prior legislation for new entrants to the video market. The law goes into effect Sept. 1.
