Latest Step in Suddenlink Capital Investment Program
PECOS, Texas (Sept. 26, 2012) – Suddenlink announced today it has launched more than two dozen new high-definition (HD) TV channels in Pecos, including CMT HD, CNN HD, Nickelodeon HD and Discovery Channel HD. A standard definition version of CMT also is being added.
Among the other new HD channels are: broadcast stations KOSA HD (CBS), KPEJ HD (FOX), KWES HD (NBC) and KMID HD (ABC), as well as AMC HD, TLC HD, Cartoon Network HD, CNBC HD, Fox News Channel HD, Animal Planet HD, Lifetime Movie Network HD, Comedy Central HD, MTV HD, MSNBC HD, E! HD, Speed Channel HD and Outdoor Channel HD.
HDTV offers a widescreen format, similar to a movie theater, with distinctly sharper images and better sound quality than standard TV.
Introducing new HD channels is part of the company’s nationwide capital investment program, calling for approximately $350 million over three years, above and beyond Suddenlink’s traditional capital spending levels. That program already has brought other HD channels to Pecos, as well as digital video recorders (DVRs).
