More than 1,500 hotspots available for customers and non-customers visiting Austin
Austin, Texas (March 6, 2014) – Visitors to Austin will have access to more than 1,500 TWC WiFi® hotspots free of charge when they visit the Lone Star State’s capital the next few days. Time Warner Cable through its advertising sales division, Time Warner Cable Media, is opening up access to the hotspots for non-customers March 7 through March 12, 2014.
All Business Services customers and all Time Warner Cable Internet customers with Standard Internet or above currently have access to Time Warner Cable’s network of more than 1,500 TWC WiFi® hotspots in Austin and more than 200,000 TWC WiFi and Cable WiFi® hotspots in cities across the U.S.. Non-Time Warner Cable customers will now have access to these hotspots in Austin March 7 – March 12, 2014, by following these steps when in range:
- Select the TWCWiFi network
- Open your browser
- Select the Visitor tab and follow the sign-in prompts
- Enter promo code: WIFI4me (case sensitive)
Access to the hotspots for non-Time Warner Cable customers will expire March 12, 2014. The hotspots are easy to locate by using the free Time Warner Cable WiFi Finder app available through the Google Play or iTunes app stores, or through the WiFi coverage map at twc.com/wificoverage and can be found in popular areas in Austin including:
- Red River Cultural District
- Palm Park
- Barton Springs Road near Palmer House
- 6th Street
- South Congress
Time Warner Cable Media will also offer discounted savings on food and apparel through partnerships with Eat24hours.com and Jonathan Paul Fitover Sunglasses. The Time Warner Cable Media brand ambassadors will also be distributing coupons for free transportation on the “TWCMedia Pedicabs” throughout the downtown Austin area until March 11, 2014.
Time Warner Cable will be adding an additional 1,000 hotspots in the Austin area in 2014.
