Visitors to Austin have free access to outdoor WiFi hotspots
Austin, March 12, 2015 –Time Warner Cable is giving visitors to Austin free access to the TWC WiFi© network March 13 – 22. Time Warner Cable customers with Extreme Internet and above already have access to thousands of local hotspots plus more than 300,000 hotspots nationwide as part of the Cable WiFi® partnership. Now visitors to Austin and non-subscribers will have free access to more than 2,000 outdoor hotspots with no password required from March 13 – 22.
“TWC WiFi hotspot users in Austin during these dates can stay connected on any device by using any of our outdoor hotspots for free,” said Kathy Brabson, Area Vice President of Operations for Time Warner Cable in Central Texas. “The TWC WiFi hotspots are conveniently located throughout downtown, South Congress, 6th street area and many more locations where people need to connect online.”
The TWC WiFi network launched in Austin in the fall of 2013 with 900 hotspots and this number has steadily grown to almost 4,000 indoor and outdoor hotspots. Along with this enhancement, TWC launched the TWC Maxx initiative in the Austin area in 2014 and features ultra-fast Internet speeds, state-of-the-art TV services and best-in-class reliability. Speeds increased for all customers on all six TWC Internet plans in 2014, at no additional cost, with a new top download speed now of up to 300 Mbps.
