Other Internet Speeds to Be Increased at No Added Charge
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (Sept. 3, 2015) – Suddenlink announced today that it is now offering a residential Internet service with an up to 1 Gigabit per second download speed in Huntsville, placing it among the first Suddenlink-served communities in Texas to receive this service.
Suddenlink also announced today that this week it also will be increasing certain other residential Internet speeds at no additional cost to customers.
“Today’s announcement is the next step in Operation GigaSpeed, the company-wide plan we announced last August,” said Suddenlink Vice President of Operations Charlotte Strong. “In sharp contrast to companies like Google and AT&T, which are offering a Gigabit service only to a few neighborhoods in primarily urban markets, we’re making our service available in all of the neighborhoods and households we are able to serve in Huntsville.”
Strong added that local business owners also will have access to the new Gigabit service, along with customized services that Suddenlink has offered for many years and that are capable of multi-Gigabit speeds.
As part of Operation GigaSpeed, Suddenlink introduced a first phase of Internet speed increases in Huntsville earlier this year. In addition to launching the 1Gigabit Internet service today, residential high-speed Internet customers with current download speeds up to 75 and 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) this week will be moved to services with download speeds up to 100 and 200 Mbps, respectively, at no added charge. Suddenlink’s standard residential Internet download speeds in Huntsville will then be up to 50, 100, and 200 Mbps, along with the now available up to 1 Gig service.
