Dale Laine to step down from Texas Cable Association

The following is a statement from TCA President and COO Dale Laine:

“After nearly 12 years as President and COO of the Texas Cable Association, I’m announcing my departure effective June 30. While I hope to remain in a consulting capacity, it is the right time to leave the day-to-day duties as TCA adjusts to continued industry changes following the closure of the Charter/Time Warner Cable and Altice/Suddenlink deals, a new TCA board assuming office on July 1 and six months ahead of the 85th Texas legislative session.

“Never would I have imagined in the fall of 2004 that I would remain with TCA past a few years, much less beyond a decade. But, change is a good thing, allowing for fresh clarity and energy, new focus and new challenges.

“I will forever be grateful to the many professional and personal colleagues with whom I’ve had the privilege to work in this dynamic, market leading industry. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with all twelve TCA Boards of Directors to build a strong, vibrant and impactful industry trade association. I’m thankful to the member company employees, associate members, NCTA staff, and other state association executives across the country as I got to know you personally and professionally. Most importantly, I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the TCA staff over the years as we undertook tough and challenging issues during the past six legislative sessions. It’s been an honor and a privilege.”
