RYAN WEISEMAN JOINS TEXAS CABLE ASSOCIATION STAFF

Longtime Texas Capitol staffer Ryan Weiseman has been hired by the Texas Cable Association (TCA) to serve as its legislative director. Weiseman joins Velma Cruz, recently hired as TCA’s vice president and general counsel, as the TCA government affairs team.

Weiseman comes to TCA with 10 years experience at the Texas Legislature. Most recently, he was a budget analyst for the Senate Committee on Finance. He also served as a senior policy advisor to former Sen. Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler) for eight years. Weiseman’s additional legislative experience includes: director for both the Partnership Advisory Commission and the Joint Oversight Committee on Government Facilities; legislative director for State Rep. Tracy King (D-Uvalde); and clerk of the House Committee on Pensions and Investments.

“We are fortunate to have Ryan our team to lead our public policy efforts along with Velma Cruz,” said Leo Muñoz, chairman of the TCA Board of Directors and senior director of governmental affairs for Comcast. “His broad legislative background will be valuable as we educate and deliver the cable industry’s message in the Texas Capitol.”

Weiseman and his wife, Stacy, have two sons: Logan, 9, and Henry, 6. He enjoys playing tennis, cooking and coaching his sons’ sports teams.
