Spectrum Partners with Rebuilding Together to Help Dallas Homeowners
Spectrum Housing Assist, Charter’s national philanthropic initiative to create safe and healthy homes, comes to Dallas Sept. 8

DALLAS (Sept. 6, 2018) – More than 80 Spectrum employee volunteers will be in Dallas Saturday, Sept. 8, to support Charter Communications, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: CHTR) first national philanthropic initiative, Spectrum Housing Assist. Helping others is rooted in our commitment to improve 50,000 homes in the communities we live in and serve by 2020.

Rain or shine, Spectrum volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Bataan Community Center, 3232 Bataan St., to begin work on four houses in the surrounding Bataan neighborhood.

Spectrumpartners with Rebuilding Together to provide critical home repairs to low-income homeowners. In Dallas, Spectrum and Rebuilding Together will bring the mission of safe and healthy homes to four families including Porfirio and Juanita, who have lived in their West Dallas home for more than 50 years along with their disabled adult daughter. With most of the family’s resources devoted to meeting healthcare needs, Spectrum and Rebuilding Together are stepping in to install new appliances and make other repairs that otherwise would not be possible.

Volunteers will also help Maria, who has resided in her home for 20 years – next door to her sister who lives in their childhood home. An accident left Maria unable to work, so she is now in need of assistance to enable her to age happily in the neighborhood she loves.

Powered by Spectrum’s financial support and the expertise of Rebuilding Together, Spectrum employee volunteers will complete these projects by providing interior and exterior repairs including bathroom installations, replacing front doors, installing smoke detectors, replacing siding and repairing fences.

“At Spectrum, our technicians serve thousands of customers in their homes every day, and through Spectrum Housing Assist, we can serve the community by helping make our neighbors’ homes safe and healthy,” said Kirk Dale, Area Vice President, Field Operations, for Spectrum in North Texas. “All of our area employees are happy to join the talented Rebuilding Together team to make a long-lasting impact in our community.”

Since its inception, Spectrum Housing Assist has helped improve more than 21,249 homes. To learn more about Spectrum Housing Assist, visit responsibility.spectrum.com.
