EXPERIENCE THE C-SPAN BUS IN WICHITA FALLS ON FEBRUARY 5 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TIME WARNER CABLE

The C-SPAN Bus hits the road for winter tour

WASHINGTON – Area  students will have the opportunity to learn about C-SPAN’s programs and resources on  Wednesday, February 5  by stepping aboard the C-SPAN Bus during a stop on its winter tour. 

The Bus, now in its 21st year on the road, the bus visits help inform communities about the public affairs network’s ongoing First Ladies feature series. It is visiting cities, schools and universities across the country, promoting C-SPAN’s educational and political resources for students, teachers and community members along the way.

This winter, the Bus tour will coincide with the finale of the series First Ladies: Influence & Image, which airs every Monday night at 9 p.m. ET on C-SPAN.  For more information on the series, visit c-span.org/firstladies.

Aboard the C-SPAN Bus, visitors can learn about First Ladies and the networks’ other programming and resources through interactive technology:

  • In-depth public affairs coverage and educational outreach
  • Touch-screen quizzes on C-SPAN and the three branches of government
  • Mobile devices demonstrating Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube, Tout, XM Radio and mobile apps
  • HD cameras and production equipment demonstrating C-SPAN’s capability to produce public affairs programming aboard the Bus

C-SPAN also provides a unique way to experience public affairs through c-span.org, where you can access over 200,000 hours of political and governmental footage dating back to 1987.

As of March 2014, C-SPAN will have aired 35 years of complete coverage of the House of Representatives.

The Bus visits to Wichita Falls are in partnership with Time Warner Cable.

Tune in to C-SPAN’s public affairs programming on the C-SPAN Networks, C-SPAN Radio, and c-span.org. In Wichita, C-SPAN can be seen on channel 70,361 and HD 1361,  C-SPAN2 on channel 41 and 362 and C-SPAN3 on channel 363

Jared Sonne Promoted to VP Operations at Suddenlink

Suddenlink today announced it has promoted Jared Sonne to Vice President of Operations for the company’s Texoma Region, which includes cable systems in East Texas and Oklahoma. He will be responsible for service delivery, customer growth and community relations. He is based in Tyler.

Suddenlink Agrees to Purchase Northland Cable Systems

Suddenlink Communications announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain Texas cable systems from Northland Communications. Suddenlink expects to close the acquisition in the first quarter of 2014, subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals. The purchase price was not disclosed.
