Comcast Opens Xfinity Wifi Hotspots to Aid Residents and Emergency Personnel during Houston Flood Recovery

More than 24,000 XFINITY WiFi Hotspots available throughout the Greater Houston area 

HOUSTON, TX – April 19, 2016 – Comcast today announced that it will open up its XFINITY WiFi hotspots throughout the Greater Houston area to anyone who needs them – including non-Comcast customers – to help residents and emergency personnel during the Houston flood recovery.

Non-XFINITY Internet customers should search for the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available networks and follow the on-screen prompts.

Comcast has opened its WiFi hotspots and users will be able to renew their complimentary sessions every two hours.

Suddenlink Completes Move to All-Digital TV Lineup

AMARILLO, Texas (April 12, 2016) – Suddenlink announced today it has completed an upgrade to an all-digital TV lineup and added nearly 70 new channels to its lineup, including more than 25 new high-definition (HD) channels, in Amarillo, Canyon and Tulia, Texas, and Clovis, N.M.. Digital TV offers superior picture and sound quality.

The conversion process began earlier this year. Customers were notified directly as changes took place.

Among the new HD channels are: English Premier League Extra Time HD, C-SPAN HD, QVC HD, Home Shopping Network HD, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries HD, WEtv HD, Great American Country HD, Discovery Family Channel HD, Smithsonian Channel HD, TV One HD, BYUtv HD, Fuse HD, Pac-12 Network HD, IFC HD, Sundance TV HD, HBO Signature HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime 2 HD, Showtime Showcase HD, Starz Kids & Family HD, Starz Cinema  HD and HBO Latino HD.

Suddenlink Completes Move to All-Digital TV Lineup

SAN ANGELO, Texas (April 5, 2016) – Suddenlink announced today it has completed an upgrade to an all-digital TV lineup and added more channels in San Angelo. Digital TV offers superior picture and sound quality.

The conversion process began earlier this year.  Customers were notified directly as changes took place. In the process, Suddenlink added a host of new high-definition (HD) channels to its lineup.

New HD channels include: Angelo State HD, Local Government HD, English Premier League Extra Time HD, C-SPAN HD, QVC HD, Home Shopping Network HD, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries HD, WEtv HD, Great American Country HD, Discovery Family Channel HD, Destination America HD, The Science Channel HD, Smithsonian Channel HD, TV One HD, BYUtv HD, Fuse HD, Pac-12 Network HD, IFC HD, Sundance TV HD, HBO Signature HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime 2 HD, Showtime Showcase HD, Starz Kids & Family HD and Starz Cinema  HD.

Depending on the type of service a customer was receiving from Suddenlink, customers needed to install HD digital adapters – also known as HD DigitaLinks – which enabled them to receive the all-digital channel lineup. Customers with TV sets that had Suddenlink HD DVRs, HD Digital receivers, TiVo HD DVRs or Suddenlink Cable Cards did not need HD DigitaLinks.

For customers who still need to pick up a digital adapter, they will be available at the following times and locations: April 5 and 6, 8 a.m.-7 p.m., at the Suddenlink Retail Center, 4272 W. Houston Harte Expressway, and at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 609 S. Oakes St.
