INSIDE THE TEXAS CAPITOL
- Offices need a TV with a QAM tuner.
- There is no box required, and there is no box that will work inside the capitol with an old TV.
OUTSIDE THE CAPITOL (i.e., homes and businesses)
- Beginning Jan.20 all analog channels in Central Texas will be transitioned to digital – a few each week.
- Customers will no longer be able to view these channels without a digital adapter or digital set-top box.
- A Digital Adapter will be free the first year. It will be around $1.50/month after that.
- Customers can – but don’t have to – get a regular digital converter, with more functionality. They are roughly $10/month.

Austin to be in National Spotlight
C-SPAN to reveal Austin history and highlight authors during week-long visit
SPECIAL EVENT WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3RD

Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Time Warner Cable will welcome C-SPAN to Austin on Wednesday, December 3rd in the Brown Room at the LBJ Presidential Library as they kick off a visit to record and feature the city’s history and literary life.
At Wednesday’s event, C-SPAN representatives will reveal the stories and segments explored by the national network during their week-long visit starting Monday, December 1st. During their time in Austin, C-SPAN representatives will also conduct community outreach.
Local segments recorded throughout the week will air on non-fiction book channel Book TV (on C-SPAN2, Time Warner Cable channels 226) and history channel American History TV (on C-SPAN3, Time Warner Cable channel 227) during C-SPAN’s special “Austin Weekend” January 3-4, 2015.

In partnership with Time Warner Cable, C-SPAN’s 2014-2015 Cities Tour takes Book TV and American History TV on the road. C-SPAN2 and C-SPAN3 are featuring the literary life and history of each of these selected cities during special weekends on the public affairs network.
Working with its cable partners, the C-SPAN producing team will take specially outfitted Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) into Austin, Texas, starting Monday, December 1st, visiting various literary and historic sites to interview local historians, authors and civic leaders over the duration of the visit.
Programming recorded in Austin will air on Book TV/C-SPAN2 (Time Warner Cable Channel channels 226) and American History TV/C-SPAN3 (Time Warner Cable channel 227) on January 3-4, 2015. C-SPAN is available in Austin on Time Warner Cable Channel channels 18, 225.

U.S. Senator Charles Perry, State Representative John Frullo and newly-elected State Representative Dustin Burrows will join students and faculty members in honoring hometown heroes at a Take a Veteran to School Day program at Lubbock-Cooper High School, Tuesday, Nov. 11. The Take a Veteran to School Day project is part of a national initiative by the History Channel and Suddenlink, which provides cable services in Lubbock.
