Allegiance Communications, which serves three Runnels County cities, has become the latest cable company to join the Texas Cable Association (TCA), the primary trade organization for cable operators in Texas since 1960.

“The Texas Cable Association is excited to welcome Allegiance Communications,” said TCA Board Chairman John Owen, president, business services, Time Warner Cable West Region. “During the 2011 legislative session, TCA and its member companies will represent the interests of Texans in more than 1,000 cities and communities across the state who rely on cable to meet their needs for video, Internet and phone service.”

In Texas, Allegiance Communications provides cable, Interent and telephone services to more than 4,810 subscribers in the cities of Ballinger, Dalhart, Dekalb, Hooks, Maud, Miles, New Boston, Perryton, Preston Peninsula and Winters. Allegiance also has subscribers in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

“The Texas Cable Association strives to be a strong advocate on behalf of its members and their customers,” said Rep. Harvey Hilderbran (R-Kerrville). “Allegiance Communications’ decision to join the association means that Runnels County cable subscribers have a well-known ally in their corner at the Texas Capitol.”

“Allegiance Communications joined the TCA because the cable trade organization is a very professional group with a successful track record representing our business interests In Texas,” said Greg Harrison, vice president of regulatory affairs for Allegiance Communications. “We also wanted to be involved through the TCA with other cable operators in Texas who share common business interests. Allegiance Communications thanks the TCA for this opportunity to work with the TCA organization.”

TCA’s members now include Allegiance Communications, Cable One, Charter Communications, Comcast, Suddenlink Communications and Time Warner Cable.
