TULOSO-MIDWAY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE RECEIVES CABLE INDUSTRY SCHOLARSHIP
AUSTIN – Jace Warner, a 2007 graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus Christi, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Texas Cable & Telecommunications Association (TCTA).
Warner will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, where he plans to major in business administration.
He is the son of Vicki and Jacques Triplett of Corpus Christi. Vicki Triplett is the public affairs manager for Time Warner Cable in Corpus Christi.
State lawmakers who represent Corpus Christi applauded Warner.
“Education is the greatest equalizer we have in our society," said state Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa (D-McAllen), "Jace has excelled in both his academic and civic achievements, and I have no doubt that he will continue to achieve great things at Texas A&M University.”
Said state Rep. Abel Herrero (D-Corpus Christi), “I commend Jace for being selected as a TCTA scholarship recipient. It is indicative of his academic, civic and athletic achievement that he be recognized with this award. Such dedication and commitment to excellence will serve Jace well as he makes the transition to Texas A&M University in College Station."
Warner recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America, was captain of the track and field team, served as president of the National Honor Society and president of the Junior Engineering Technical Society.
“We are pleased to recognize Jace’s accomplishments with this scholarship,” said Dale Laine, president of TCTA. “Jace was an outstanding high school student, and TCTA awarded him this scholarship because we are confident that he will continue his academic excellence at Texas A&M University in College Station.”
TCTA (www.txcable.com) is the primary trade organization for cable operators in Texas.
