Capitol Ornament Unveiled
PSA is Airing on Cable Channels Across Texas

The 2009 Texas State Capitol Ornament was recently unveiled by Julie Straus, wife of Speaker of the House
Joe Straus. This year’s ornament is a "finely styled rendering of one of the historic door knobs of the Texas Capitol doors, symbolizing the vast amount of history that has crossed the threshold of the Texas Capitol building."

To promote the ornament, cable providers across the state are airing a Public Service Announcement featuring the Texas-sized comedy duo, Greater Tuna.

Broadband Deployment
Texas Cable Providers Lead the Way

Texas continues to be a leader in broadband deployment - with cable companies playing a critical role in both the availability and advancement of new technologies.

Texas cable providers are working with both state and national leaders to continue to spur Internet access. In addition to being a part of the Texas Broadband Task Force, TCA and our member companies are part of Broadband for America through our partnership with the National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA). The coalition's mission is to make broadband access to the internet available to every household in the nation; to provide data transfer speeds to make that broadband experience valuable to users; and to provide the bandwidth necessary for content providers to continue to make the internet a cultural, societal, and economic engine for growth.
