Broadband for America Launches Texas Chapter
Organization will promote broadband access and importance of broadband to our state's economy

Last week, Broadband for America (BfA) announced the formation of the Texas Chapter. The Texas Cable Association is proud to be a member and supports the organization's mission to help Texans better understand how broadband access to the Internet can be a job generator from the Panhandle to the Valley, and from El Paso to Bryan/College Station.

The broadband and information technology sectors created nearly half of all new jobs in 2008 and contribute nearly $1 trillion to the nation’s economy annually. The major network providers have invested $100 billion in the past two years in their networks, so at a time when most industrial centers have been reducing their workforces, the broadband industry has been growing.
