Fast Internet Fuels Business Productivity, Reduces Costs

St. Louis, MO – Charter Business today announced that it is, for the third time since 2010, increasing commercial Internet speeds at no cost for two of its most popular services, Charter Business Internet Essentials16 and 25. This free speed increase will take place in approximately 95 percent of Charter’s Internet service area nationwide. Specific increases in downstream and upstream speeds are shown below:

  • Charter Business Internet Essentials16, with downstream speeds of 16 megabits per second (Mbps) and upstream speeds of 2 Mbps, will increase to up to 20 Mbps downstream and up to 3 Mbps upstream – at least 6 times faster than 3 Mbps DSL service and more than 13 times faster than T1.
  • Charter Business Internet Essentials25, with downstream speeds of 25 Mbps and upstream speeds of 3 Mbps, will increase to up to 30 Mbps downstream and up to 4 Mbps upstream – at least 6 times faster than 5 Mbps DSL service and 20 times faster than T1.
  • Charter Business’s fastest commercial offerings, Pro50 and Pro100, remain the same and continue to be two of the fastest Internet services available to commercial customers, providing up to 50 Mbps downstream/5 Mbps upstream and up to 100 Mbps downstream/ 5 Mbps upstream, respectively.

With the increased speeds, businesses will have faster downstream and upstream times for file transfers and can more efficiently run billing systems and credit card processing, as well as enhance web server and email efficiency. In addition, employees will gain faster access to data and more applications with hosted, cloud-based services.

“We appreciate the importance of connectivity in today’s business environment and Charter Business continues to invest in our network, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability for our thousands of business customers,” said Jim McGann, Senior Vice President, Charter Business.
“Faster Internet speeds can take businesses to the next level,” he added. “We are empowering our customers with pure online power to save time and boost productivity when multitasking with multiple devices. Charter Business Internet is a cost-efficient fuel for business productivity.”
