Suddenlink Fishing Tourney Raises Funds for Hospice of San Angelo
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Feb. 7, 2010) – More than $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the Suddenlink Tony Gibson Memorial Fishing Tournament set for March 5 at the Concho Pavilion on Lake O.H. Ivie, 24282 County Road 4763, in Millersview. Proceeds from the event will aid Hospice of San Angelo’s mission to serve area families coping with terminal illness.
The Suddenlink tournament, now in its third year, was last year renamed in memory of avid fisherman and San Angelo Bass Club member Tony Gibson. Gibson was a winner at the 2009 tournament. He received care from Hospice of San Angelo before he passed away in October 2009.
Entrants 17 and over will compete for a first-place cash prize of $2,200. First prizes in the 16-and-under category will be a $300 gift certificate provided by Field & Streams Sporting Goods.
Online registration and information are available at www.fishtheopen.com. Early registration fee for the over-16 tournament will be $55 until 5 p.m. March 4. Late registration will cost $70 through the morning of March 5 at the Concho Pavilion. There is no fee for the 16-and-under competition.
