Suddenlink Launches TiVo Stream in San Angelo

Service Allows Customers to Watch TV Programs on iPads, iPhones in Homes

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Dec. 10, 2012) – Suddenlink today announced the launch of its ground-breaking new TiVo® Stream service that will allow customers to stream TV shows around the house wirelessly on iPod Touch, iPads and iPhones and also transfer digital video recordings (DVR) to these mobile devices for later viewing on the road.  (Ability to transfer some programs to these devices may be prohibited by the program owners.)

Suddenlink is the first cable provider in the country to offer TiVo Stream, which is now available in San Angelo.

Existing customers now can get a TiVo Stream device to add to their home network as a companion to their TiVo Premiere DVR.  This add-on device, using an existing TiVo app, is the first of its kind to enable simultaneous viewing of TV shows or recorded shows on up to four mobile devices without interrupting what is currently playing on TV.

Suddenlink said that Android devices and access to video-on-demand (VOD) content would be added later.

“With TiVo Stream we’re giving our customers even more flexibility to watch TV programs wherever they choose,” said Dave Gilles, senior vice president of operations for Suddenlink’s West Region.  “With support for up to four streams at once, members of the family can watch various shows in the house, the garage or backyard on TVs or mobile devices, and transfer many shows from their TiVo Premiere DVRs to smartphones and tablets for later viewing anywhere they are and at any time they want.”

TiVo Premiere, introduced earlier by Suddenlink, combines Suddenlink’s service with TiVo’s best-in-class user interface to offer access to thousands of hours of entertainment choices, including content from Suddenlink’s VOD library and the Web, all accessible through TiVo’s advanced search and discovery features.

In addition to integrated search functions, TiVo Premiere offers users remote scheduling, apps for iPhone and iPad, full HD support, and the ability to pause, rewind, and use slow-motion and instant replay functions for live TV. Suddenlink is the only multichannel TV service provider in San Angelo to offer TiVo Premiere.
