Suddenlink Logs 1 Million High-Speed Internet Customers

Midland Man Identified Today as Customer Number 1 Million

MIDLAND, Texas (Dec. 20, 2012) – Suddenlink announced today that it has achieved a new milestone, recording 1 million high-speed Internet customers.  The company identified Midland resident Mark Saenz as customer number 1 million at an event here at its local office.

West Region Senior Vice President of Operations Dave Gilles made the announcement, introduced Saenz and presented him an iPad, a year of free Suddenlink services that include video, upgraded high-speed Internet, Suddenlink WiFi@Home, a TiVo® Premiere DVR and the recently announced TiVo Stream service.

“Our team is excited that Suddenlink’s one-millionth high-speed Internet customer is in our region as well as here in Midland,” Gilles said.  “We’re happy for Mark and hope he’ll enjoy his upgraded Suddenlink services.”

Gilles also introduced Suddenlink Customer Care Representative Oscar Garcia, from the company’s Lubbock call center, who sold the high-speed Internet service to Saenz.  Gilles presented Garcia an iPad, as well.

Coincidentally, the 1-million milestone has been reached shortly after the company completed work on its nationwide capital investment program, Project Imagine, which involved approximately $350 million of investments over three years, above and beyond Suddenlink’s traditional capital spending levels.

Through that program, Suddenlink introduced faster Internet speeds and upgraded speeds of existing services.  The faster speeds were made possible by extending the reach of the cable industry’s proprietary, cutting-edge, DOCSIS 3.0 technology from fewer than one-in-four to more than nine-of-10 customers at project’s end.

During Project Imagine, Suddenlink introduced its High Speed Internet MAX 107.0 service, with download speeds of up to 107 Megabits per second (Mbps).  At the time of its introduction in 2010, it was the fastest residential high-speed Internet offering by a major provider in the United States. Midland customers now can choose services with download speeds of up to 3, 15, 30, 50 and 107 Mbps.

Also during Project Imagine, Suddenlink more than tripled the number of high-definition TV channels it offers, expanded its video on demand service reach to more than 90 percent of its customers, increased Internet speeds, and introduced all-digital TV lineups to a number of communities.

Suddenlink simplifies its customers’ lives through one call for support, one connection, and one bill for TV, Internet, phone and other services.
