Suddenlink to Provide Market Leading Video and High-Speed Internet Access Services to New Luxury Student Living Community
LUBBOCK, Texas (March 22, 2011) — Suddenlink Communications will be providing state of the art video and high-speed Internet access services to 25Twenty, a new luxury student living community near Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The project is a joint venture between the developer, Asset Campus Housing, and Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors (KAREA), a private equity real estate fund investing in specialized real estate sectors, with a primary focus on off-campus student housing.
25Twenty is the newest and most luxurious student housing community serving Texas Tech students. Included in the rent, each resident will receive a Suddenlink wired Ethernet high-speed Internet service, with download speeds up to 10 Megabits per second (Mbps). Wi-Fi access also will be available throughout the community. The living area of each apartment will include an HD-DVR set-top box hooked up to 42” energy star high-definition televisions with Suddenlink SL200: Advanced Digital TV service. Suddenlink SL200 includes more than 200 channels of programming, including more than 50 HD channels, access to Video on Demand with thousands of free programs, and more than 45 digital music channels. The video package also includes 12 HBO channels, two of which are in HD, and access to the entire HBO on Demand library through Suddenlink’s Video on Demand service. In each bedroom residents get access to the linear programming available in the living area and access to Video on Demand and other content with the upgrade to a full set-top box.
“Long before construction started, RealPage’s Velocity Advisory Services and
Asset Campus Housing approached us seeking the best possible services for their residents,” said Nathan Geick, division director for Suddenlink Business Services. “The services included in the rent are truly state of the art. Moreover, we have agreed to upgrade the video and high-speed Internet access services included in the rent each year to ensure they stay current. Residents can also upgrade to other service offered by Suddenlink in Lubbock.”
“Suddenlink continues to be a great partner for Asset Campus Housing. They have helped us at a number of communities throughout Texas,” said Julie Bonnin, chief operating officer for Asset Campus Housing.
Asset Campus engaged Velocity Advisory Services, a division of RealPage, Inc., to help negotiate the video and high-speed Internet access services and design the related community infrastructure, as well as, the audio-video, access control and energy management systems. “Asset Campus always strives for the best possible technologies and services for their communities and Suddenlink is offering some incredible and cost-effective services to 25Twenty,” said Henry Pye, vice president Velocity Advisory Services. “We were happy to help them.”
