Suddenlink, US Cable Turn Up New Fiber Route
Suddenlink’s Largest Commercial Installation Helps US Cable Provide Service in Six States
ST. LOUIS and MONTVALE, N.J. (Feb. 28, 2011) – Suddenlink Business Services and US Cable today announced completion of a new fiber-optic route in West Texas that provides 2.5 Gigabits of capacity to help US Cable serve its residential and commercial Internet customers. This project is the largest-capacity installation to date by Suddenlink for a commercial client.
Thirteen miles of newly constructed fiber and more than 80 miles of previously dark fiber, running from Seminole to Lubbock, Texas, now connect US Cable’s facilities in Seminole to Suddenlink’s state-of-the-art national network. US Cable will use this connection to provide high-speed Internet services to nearly 100,000 customers in six states.
“The new route and data-transport capacity from Suddenlink puts us in position to offer improved and more reliable services in the communities where we operate,” said US Cable Director of Operations Chris Zeth.
“Our partnership with US Cable adds to our established track record of designing and delivering large-scale fiber installations for commercial customers,” said Suddenlink Business Services Vice President Ken Conner. He added that, since 2006, Suddenlink has constructed and activated 750 custom fiber routes for its business clients.
