TIME WARNER CABLE LAUNCHES TWO TEXAS LEGISLATIVE CHANNELS

Posted on: 12-12-2012 Posted in: Press Releases - Members

New digital channels will carry live feeds from the Texas House and Senate during session

AUSTIN, December 12, 2012 – Starting December 14, Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) will offer two digital video channels to carry live feeds of the Texas House and Senate to customers in the City of Austin. The channels were created to carry the legislative feeds during session, which no longer will be available through City of Austin Public, Education and Government channels.

Traditionally, City of Austin PEG channels carried House and Senate Chamber proceedings during legislative sessions as part of their programming content. Carriage bounced among four PEG channels based on programming needs of those channels. Technical changes triggered a need to find a new home for this programming.

“While we are not obligated to carry this programming, we believe our Austin customers are interested and will appreciate having it available to watch on television during the Session,” said Jon Gary Herrera, spokesperson for Time Warner Cable of Central Texas.

The Texas Legislative Channels can be found on:

Customers can arrange for a digital box and service by calling 866-701-0795 or visiting Time Warner Cable offices in Austin at:
