Charter Communications will feature special video on demand offerings to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15). The movies honor Hispanic actors, directors and producers. The titles and dates of the available programming can be found here.
Time Warner Cable News/San Antonio (Channels 14 and 200 in San Antonio) has lined up stories and segments in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month:
- Sept. 6: Mexican food influence. Mexico’s food influence is everywhere nowadays, including the White House. A chat with the experts in this field and their take on the culture’s growth in the food scene.
- Sept. 7: Mexican music influence. A look at how Tejano music has impacted other music genres.
- Sept. 13: Hispanic cultures. In addition to Mexican influence, San Antonio has become home to large populations from Puerto Rico, Cuba and others. A look at the how San Antonio’s blended Hispanic cultures influence the city.
- Sept. 14: Hispanic influence on voting trends.
ROOT SPORTS is partnering with the Astros Foundation to host the inaugural Astros Charity Game on September 9th. Starting with a special one hour pre-game show, the entire Astros vs. Cubs broadcast that night will be dedicated to promoting the sale of Astros Grab bags with net proceeds benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston and USO Houston. There are two different levels of grab bags, both include tickets and an autographed baseball among other things. Former Rocket Yao Ming will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and Root Sports will air a special edition of Rockets All Access to commemorate the occasion. The debut of that show is still TBD but the schedule will be posted HERE once confirmed.
