Please give a warm Texas welcome to Vince Margiotta, who recently moved back to Texas from Oregon to become Vice President of Comcast Business, Houston Region. Vince has worked for a number of telecommunications companies in his career, leading sales, marketing and product management organizations for more than 25 years. Interesting fact: his interest in sales and technology has influenced his inventing, for which he has obtained six U.S Patents, four of which combine video game technology and sales process to improve sales performance through serious games.
Outside of your professional role at Comcast, what are some of your hobbies or personal interests?
I enjoy hiking, fishing and scenic nature activities. My wife and I also enjoy the vibrant and creative food scene in Houston.
Are you involved with any community organizations or activities?
I have a strong background of community involvement, and although I am new to Houston, I am looking for entrepreneurial and community support opportunities.
Why is it important for Comcast and other cable companies to invest in, and be involved in their communities?
It is imperative that as a technology company, we invest in our communities to help make a positive impact.
Year round at Comcast, our company and employees work with a variety of organizations to address needs within our communities nationwide. We also step up and support our communities in the wake of natural disasters.
Most recently, in response to COVID-19, Comcast Business took steps to provide helpful information for businesses of all sizes. With our network of industry experts and strategic partners, we compiled a collection of webinars to support and empower the business community. Our hope is that these webinars will inform businesses of all sizes as they adapt their operations and adjust their technology strategies to help them remain connected, agile and secure, now and in the future.
What are some interesting things Comcast Business is working on that you’d like to share?
I’m proud of the team I get to work with every day. Recently, we were able to do an emergency network upgrade for Memorial Hermann, increasing the system’s bandwidth circuit – a task that typically takes two months – in a matter of days. Their CIO was very thankful and appreciative with how quickly we worked to get this done.
Nationally, we just announced a partnership with NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, the leading media company serving Hispanics, to provide a $50,000 grant to the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The grant will support Hispanic-owned businesses impacted by COVID-19.
As always, we will continue to focus on improving every aspect of our customers’ experience.
