October 8, 2022

Texas Capitol veteran Meredyth Fowler has joined the staff of the Texas Cable Association (TCA) as general counsel. She also will be part of TCA’s governmental affairs team, which includes TCA President Walt Baum and Ryan Weiseman, legislative director.

“The Texas Cable Association is fortunate to welcome someone with Meredyth’s depth of public affairs experience to our team,” said TCA President Walt Baum. “Her broad-based background working issues from both inside and outside of the Capitol will be valuable as we educate and deliver the Texas cable industry’s messages to policymakers.”

“I am thrilled to join the Texas Cable Association,” Fowler said. “The TCA staff and cable company members are so well respected at the Texas Capitol, and I am excited to help continue the great work on behalf of the Texas cable industry.”

Fowler most recently spent almost seven years as legislative counsel for the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. She also worked a year as a lobbyist with Tuggey, Rosenthal, Pauerstein, Sandoloski & Agather LLP.

Inside the Texas Capitol, she was an attorney and policy analyst for then House Speaker Joe Straus for almost seven years. She also previously served as general counsel for state Sen. Kevin Eltife, chief of staff and general counsel for state Rep. Peggy Hamric, and a legislative assistant for state Rep. Brian McCall.

A graduate of Texas State University, Fowler earned her juris doctorate at South Texas College of Law in Houston.
